This is a great program. All the kayaking you want, great instruction, wonderful food, nice location, good variety of kayaking sites. The instructors provided group and and one-on-one instruction that raised my level of kayaking skill. I am very glad I went and recommend this program. I am happy with the whole experience.

Kayakers, Gourmands, Healthy-Eaters: Put this program high on your list of "must-do" Road Scholar programs! Wonderful hosts and instructors, lovely and comfortable accommodations, and gorgeous scenery! Your kayaking skills will improve, whether you are at the beginner or intermediate-advanced level. One of the best and most thoughtful Road Scholar programs I've ever attended. And a great value for the cost. When you go, you may well see me participating again. Marilyn from Fayetteville, PA

Accurately described in the catalog, this was one of the best Road Scholar programs I have attended over many years. The group leader and instructors are patient and competent, and you can participate without having to be an experienced kayaker. The congenial lodge dining area made for lively conversation at mealtime... and the food was VERY good! The evenings were filled with interesting programs. Definitely a 'two thumbs up' experience!

This was a wonderful experience in every way - I only wish I could have stayed longer. The scenery was beautiful; the instructors were very patient and helpful; the food was terrific (that's an understatement); and the evening programs were delightful and informative. Both my husband and I have physical challenges, as did several other participants in the program, but these were generally able to be accommodated, so that we could enjoy the entire experience. I would like to do this trip again - and, in the meantime - I want to find a way to continue to build my skills. We did not get around to taking pictures -but I hope others on our trip will share some of the wonderful photographs!

My kayaking program with Stephen and Joy at the Outdoor Lodge in Quebec was absolutely fantastic. I improved my kayaking skills and had fun at the same time! Stephen and Joy were delightful hosts and worked very hard to make sure that my time with them was enjoyable and worth my time and money. The meals they served to me and my friends were superior. I felt as if I was at a gourmet restaurant. In fact, I came home with some of their yummy recipes, and also took photos of some of the meals that we were served as they were presented so nicely. I highly recommend this trip to anyone already interested in kayaking or would like to begin to learn about this sport.

There's much to praise about this program---the facility, the leaders, the scenic paddling trips, and the evening programs; but 2 things distinguish it from our other 5 kayaking trips: the quality of the instruction and the food! Both my wife and I increased our knowledge of kayaking skills and improved our strokes (she, immensely so). And the food could truly be classified "Road Scholar Gourmet". We've had excellent food in Washington and South Carolina programs, but Quebec surpassed them both . . . even the lunch sandwiches were a cut above. Kudos to Stephen, Joy and their staff.

Great kayaking experience in Quebec and VT! My husband and I along with friends just returned from an outstanding kayaking experience in Quebec and VT. We were housed in a wonderful home with a rambling porch where participants enjoyed gathering before dinner most evenings to relax and to enjoy getting to know one another. We were fortunate to have our quarters in the remodeled loft of the barn that had been moved onto the property. We loved the beautiful polished wooden floors and the large windows! Our leader had a great attitude that we would not let rain stop an outing!! Our first trip on the water was in rain!! He did an outstanding job instructing those who wanted to know how to roll and to improve kayaking skills in general. One of the highlights was returning to the house each evening and being served a gourmet meal. It was just like eating out in a fine restaurant each evening. The breakfast meals were delicious as well, and the lunches provided for our daily trips were also a treat. The scenery was beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our leaders and our group. An added bonus was hearing Ginette, a local resident sing and play the piano for us in an historic nearby church and to hear Niels tell of his kayaking experiences in the Baltic Sea. It was a terrific week. For those who love to play tennis, there is a clay court on the grounds that my husband enjoyed (I was unable to take advantage of playing due to a broken toe!!).

I would highly recommend this program! Stephen and Joy and the staff go out of their way to accommodate everyone. All participants seemed to enjoy themselves and to learn a lot about kayaking and the surrounding areas. The atmosphere in the lodge is warm and inviting, and I looked forward to the evening fellowship with great food.

This was the most outstanding program I've attended. The hosts, Stephen and Joy, run a well-organized program, with enough attention to detail to make the program great but relaxed, not over regimented. The paddling was great, accommodating all activity levels present but not limiting for active paddlers like myself. The food was absolutely outstanding!

I loved this trip. The lodge was so comfortable. The food was outstanding. All the staff were friendly and helpful. And the kayaking instruction was very effective. I wish the trip could have gone on longer so I could have learned more about the local ecology. As a Western Canadian, I also appreciated the lectures on Quebec history.
