Parlez-vous français? You certainly will by the end of this 18-day university-level language study in the heart of French Canada. Brush up on your conversational French as you dive deep into the language, history and culture of Québec during an extended stay in the rural village of Glen Sutton. Break into groups based on ability to study French with instructors each morning, use what you’ve learned in the classroom on afternoon excursions and weekend field trips and relax with French films in the evenings. This wonderful study abroad-like experience is the perfect mix of regional studies, art, music and outdoor pursuits in a beautiful natural setting.
Learn from University French instructors, and dine with French-speaking locals to practice your language skills during meal times and learn about daily life in rural Québec.
Enjoy afternoon excursions on most days, ranging from a cooking demonstration and winery visit to a bike rides, boat rides and nature walks.
Take overnight field trips to Montréal and Québec City to explore museums, parks, gardens, historic architecture and more.
General Notes
Students will be screened prior to arrival to determine their best experience level - intermediate or advanced - within the spectrum of Intermediate French. Small groups (9-12) per instructor). Participants must have a working knowledge of French, this program is not suitable for beginners.
